The busride



The bus travels slowly
As cars whiz by
For once I'm not lonely
Because I have you by my side

My head lies on your shoulder
As I pretend to sleep
All the way from one end to the other
Just so you don't worry about me

I tell myself that it's not forever
And to cherish this moment before we part
You seem to hear because you whisper
I love you with all of my heart

I give a shy smile
And think that its corny
But I dont say a word
Because I like it that way

The silence is beautiful
As we put our heads together
And listen to our hearts
Making music with each other

How I wish this moment will last
For the whole night if not eternity
And you say my wish will be granted
And that we'll always stay this way

The bus still travels slowly
As tears well in my eyes
I wonder why I'm thinking of you
When it's obvious you no longer love me
